Private Client Services
We prepare personalised wills, mirror wills for couples, and more complex testamentary arrangements including trust wills. We also draft and register Lasting Powers of Attorney and provide secure storage and registration guidance. In addition, we prepare change of name deeds and can witness or certify documents and statutory declarations for personal and official use.
Property Law (Residential & Commercial)
We advise on a wide range of property matters for homeowners, landlords, tenants and businesses. Our residential work includes possession proceedings, co-ownership and trust of land disputes, tenancy and lease reviews, and general property advisory work. On the commercial side we advise on lease reviews, renewals, heads of terms, licences for alterations/underletting, break clauses, service charge and repair disputes, dilapidations, and forfeiture/possession matters. Please note RJW Legal does not undertake commercial conveyancing, secured lending, or development transactions.
Mental Health Law
We represent clients detained under the Mental Health Act at Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers’ Hearings, and provide specialist advice on capacity, treatment decisions and detention law. We support clients and families with sensitive advocacy and practical legal guidance.
Court of Protection (Health, Welfare & Property & Affairs)
We assist with Court of Protection applications, deputyship matters, best-interest decision making, statutory will applications and property/trust applications. We also provide ongoing deputy support, ad hoc capacity and safeguarding advice, and representation where required.
Document Witnessing & Certification
We offer solicitor witnessing and certified copy services for identity documents, powers of attorney, statutory declarations and other official documents required for legal, financial or overseas use.
How We Work & Funding Options
We aim to make fees and funding clear and straightforward. Depending on the service and complexity of your case, we provide fixed-fee options or hourly rates and will always confirm the cost in writing before any work starts. Where relevant, we will discuss funding options — including the potential availability of Legal Aid for Mental Health Law and certain Court of Protection matters — and signpost alternative providers when appropriate.
